OEE monitoring software with scheduling option & OEE monitoring controls
Wintriss LETS OEE system includes a real time OEE monitoring software and production monitoring controls that allow automatic production data collection from your power presses, production machines, and work cells. The software formats the production data in an easy to use database and reporting generator – allowing you to determine overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). OEE = Availability x Performance x Quality
LETS provides detailed reports of uptime, downtime, downtime causes, and production rates. Gain an understanding of what your machines doing – are they down, if so, how long – producing good parts or bad?. LETS works with the Wintriss SmartPAC® press automation controls or the LETS Machine Interface which can be applied to most machine types.

The LETS database provides accurate production data for use in your MES and ERP systems.
Some LETS features/benefits are:
- Reduce factory floor paperwork
- Reduce manual data collection time and error
- Uncover hidden production capacity
- LETS can talk to all machines; not just presses
- Uses your existing Ethernet (including wireless)
- Open architecture allows for communications with external software
- Displays real-time factory status in your web browser
- Reports are customizable
- Automatic report distribution
- Tracks total hits on every die, mould, & tool
Wintriss OEE monitoring controls collect performance data directly from production machinery and provide inputs to the OEE software.
Collect Data from All of Your Machines

Wintriss LMI
LETS comes factory-configured to talk to Wintriss SmartPAC 1 & 2 press automation controls, however its OPC Server back-end features a wide range of available "Plug-in" device drivers and components for the industrial market. This allows us to modify LETS to communicate with virtually every machine in your shop. We can often accept inputs from existing machine controls to establish cycle counts, machine speed, and run time – down time. LETS has natural connectivity to Wintriss controls such as SmartPAC 2 and can monitor many data points, quality metrics, and down time causes that SmartPAC monitors.
Additionally we offer the LETS Machine Interface (LMI) which is the fastest way to connect virtually any machine to the LETS Factory Reporting Software. The LMI is Ethernet-ready, and factory configured to drop right in to your existing LETS installation and begin collecting data.
You can use the LETS Configuration Detail page to create custom downtime menus for each machine, and download them directly to the LMI.
The new LMIs are available with either a color or monochrome screen, and with or without an enclosure (LMIs without an enclosure can be mounted in an existing panel).
The new LMIs feature an improved downtime selection menu that takes full advantage of the touch-screen interface to streamline operator input. The LMI also has an additional "Setup" input that allows time spent doing troubleshooting and setup to be appropriately logged even if the machine is cycled.
LMI Features:
- Quickly connects any machine to LETS
- User-friendly touch screen interface (5.6" color, or 3.6" monochrome display)
- Available in 4 versions: Color or monochrome displays, with or without enclosure
- Significantly lower cost than comparable devices
- Ethernet Ready, simply plug it in to your existing network
- 32 downtime codes that are fully customizable – both the reasons themselves, and the menu order in which they appear
- "Forced Dialog" mode can inhibit machine restart until a downtime reason has been sent to LETS
- 7-Digit parts counter with preset
- Ability to enter Operator number, Job number, Tool Number, and/or Part number
LETS Scheduling
The optional scheduling module for LETS allows you to create a queue of jobs to run in each machine. Using a web browser interface, you simply select the appropriate part number(s) or tool number and enter the quantity of parts required. You may optionally enter a job number and/or due date for each job.
Once a schedule is created, LETS automatically sends the "next job" information to the control on the machine. When it’s time to run the next job, the machine operator simply selects "Load Next Job" and the information, including the good parts counter preset, is retrieved from LETS and loaded into the control. The top item in the schedule is then automatically "consumed" and the queue moves up.
LETS predicts the completion time/date for each job in the queue with an industry-best algorithm that analyzes real-time as well as historical changeover and production data. LETS alerts you whenever job completion is due to occur later than the due date. The scheduling module features a simple intuitive interface that allows you to edit job parameters and reposition jobs within the queue.
LETS also supports group scheduling. When you have two or more machines capable of running the same jobs, LETS enables you to create a prioritized list of jobs that are available to all of the machines in the group at once. Whenever a machine in the group becomes available, it is given the next job on the list, and the list consumes. Group scheduling allows you to maximize machine uptime and ensure that the highest priority jobs get the highest priority. When one or more machines in the group go down for an extended period of time or experience production delays, the jobs in the queue are automatically rerouted to the remaining machines.
No Special Client Software is Needed
Many currently available data collection packages require you to install special software on all computers that need to access production data. This is not the case with LETS. If your computer has a web browser and email client, you have all you need to take full advantage of LETS capabilities – even from remote locations (provided you have remote access to your network).
How Does LETS Differ From Other Data Collection Packages?
- LETS is built from standard components that can be customized
- It can communicate with virtually any production machine
- It communicates with the machines via Ethernet (wired or wireless)
- It uses the Microsoft SQL database – not Access
- LETS will run on a virtual server (such as VMWare)
- Shows real-time machine status in your web browser
- No client installs
- LETS supports multi-plant installations
- Open architecture allows data exchange w/external systems
- Automatically distributes/post reports

Customer Experience
A stamper noticed that according to his LETS weekly downtime report, a particular machine had approximately 8 hours more downtime than other similar presses running similar jobs. A look at the daily downtime reports showed that the extra downtime was caused by a little over one hour’s worth of mechanical problems per day.
From the downtime report he could see that the mechanical problem occurred about three times per day. He then ran an Event Log Report (see sample reports below) for that machine that was filtered so that only the downtime events were included. This would allow him to see if most of the downtime was attributed to a single catastrophic event (which would be hard to predict and correct) or to several equally distributed blocks of time. The event log showed that the downtime events lasted about 20 minutes each, and were regularly recurring.
After a quick conversation with the machine operator, it was determined that the downtime was being caused by a faulty scrap removal conveyor. Using the downtime information from the LETS reports, they were able to determine that the equipment required to fix the problem would pay for itself in under three months, and the funds for the new equipment were approved.
Typical LETS reports (samples):
- Daily Downtime
- Downtime Summary Pareto
- Downtime Summary Pie
- LETS Event Log
- OEE By Tool
- OEE Report
- State Summary Charts
- Weekly Downtime
- Weekly OEE By Machine
Customers can generate reports that are specific to their needs. LETS allows customers to determine OEE and they investigate root causes of efficiency loss and specific causes for downtime.
