Overview
Southworth container tilters position baskets, gaylords and other parts containers so operators can reach the contents without bending, stretching or reaching. Pan-style, roll-on and portable models are rated 2,000 or 4,000 lb and tilt up to 85°, and fixed-height tilters cover smaller or shallower containers. PRI supplies Southworth container access equipment for workstations and material handling areas.

Applications & Benefits
- Parts in containers: Tilting the basket or container brings parts to the operator without bending, stretching or reaching.
- Workstation container access: Roll-on and pan-style tilters install at the workstation and are loaded in one step with a hand pallet truck or fork truck.
- Moving containers between stations: Portable tilters pick up staged containers, move them into position and tilt them for access.
- Manual sorting: Containers are tilted to an ergonomic unloading height so contents can be sorted by hand.
- Small or shallow containers: Fixed-height tilters suit containers that do not need vertical adjustment.
How to Choose the Right Southworth Container Tilter
- Start with the loaded container weight. Pan-style, roll-on and portable models are 2,000 or 4,000 lb; fixed-height tilters run 1,000 to 6,000 lb.
- Check the container bottom. Open under clearance suits fork-over models; closed bottoms or reinforcing bars need a straddle portable or a pan-style tilter.
- Decide between a stationary tilter at the workstation and a portable unit that moves containers between stations.
- Note how containers arrive (hand pallet truck or fork truck) and from which side. Pan-style tilters can be side-loading or corner-tilting.
- Match the tilt to the container: up to 85° on pan-style, roll-on and portable models, or 30° or 45° on fixed-height tilters.
- Confirm power and controls: 115/1/60 AC on stationary models, 12 V DC with charger on portables, push-button, pendant or foot-switch control.
