Overview
Dorner pallet systems carry parts on pallets for accurate positioning, routing and control in assembly and inspection. The FlexMove Pallet System runs pallets on flexible chain for lightweight assembly, with pallets up to 9 kg (20 lb). The DualMove Pallet System runs pallets on dual timing belts for medium to large parts, with pallets from 14 to 45 kg (30 to 100 lb) and conveyor loads up to 569 kg (1,250 lb) non-accumulating. Both use Dorner's pin tracking system to guide pallets through turns. Dorner's ERT edge roller pallet systems are covered on PRI's separate Dorner ERT Pallet Systems page. - Pin tracking system
- A simple, cost-effective way to track pallets through turns. On the FlexMove system, pins guide the pallet on the conveyor and through divert modules and give accuracy at the stop location.
- Repeatable lift and locate
- The FlexMove lift and locate lifts from outside the conveyor with 200 lb of vertical holding force and ±0.004 in. repeatability. The DualMove lift and locate lifts from the center of the conveyor with ±0.13 mm (±0.005 in.) repeatability.
- Dual steel-cord timing belts
- DualMove conveyors use dual T10 timing belts with steel cords, in low friction, medium friction and static conductive versions. Belts change without removing the conveyor.
- Pallets as kits or assemblies
- Pallets come as completed assemblies or as kits, so the user can fixture the top plate. FlexMove pallets use 1/2 in. anodized aluminum tool plate with recessed hardened stop plates.
- Pneumatic pallet stops
- Cushioned and non-cushioned pneumatic stops control pallet traffic. FlexMove stops handle up to 45 kg (100 lb) per stop at 30 m/min (100 fpm) and can be added to either side without guide changes.
- Routing and station modules
- FlexMove merge and divert kits; DualMove 90 and 180 degree corners, corner and merge, lift and transfer, lift and rotate, vertical transfer unit, heavy duty lift and locate, and lift gate.

- FlexMove Pallet System – 105 mm flexible chain conveyor with pallets 180 mm wide in 100, 150 and 200 mm lengths, up to 9 kg (20 lb) per pallet. Static dissipative nylon base pucks, lift and locate with 200 lb holding force, merge and divert kits (not for 100 mm pallets) and pallet stops up to 45 kg (100 lb) per stop at 30 m/min.
- DualMove Pallet System, Mid Drive – Lengths 500 to 7,500 mm (20 in. to 24.6 ft). Conveyor load up to 569 kg (1,250 lb) non-accumulating or 284 kg (626 lb) accumulated.
- DualMove Pallet System, End Drive – Lengths 300 to 3,800 mm (12 in. to 12.5 ft). Conveyor load up to 365 kg (805 lb) non-accumulating or 185 kg (408 lb) accumulated.
- DualMove pallets and belts (both drives) – Standard pallet widths 160, 240, 320, 400, 480, 640 and 800 mm, custom widths 140 to 800 mm in 5 mm steps. Pallet capacity 14 to 45 kg (30 to 100 lb). 25 mm belts, speeds up to 66 mpm (215 fpm), aluminum frame with universal T-slot.
- DualMove engineered stations – Vertical transfer unit (elevator) with up to 91 kg (200 lb) lift capacity and 305 to 3050 mm (12 to 120 in.) top-of-belt heights. Heavy duty lift and locate withstands up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lb) of downward force and isolates pressing forces from the conveyor (floor mount support by others).

How to Choose the Right Dorner Pallet System
- Start with the part and fixture weight: up to 9 kg (20 lb) per pallet on FlexMove, 14 to 45 kg (30 to 100 lb) on DualMove.
- Size the pallet: FlexMove pallets are 180 mm wide; DualMove pallets run 160 to 800 mm wide, with custom widths from 140 mm.
- Lay out the line: conveyor lengths, corners, merges and diverts. DualMove mid drive conveyors run to 7,500 mm and end drive to 3,800 mm.
- Define each station: stop only, lift and locate, lift and transfer, lift and rotate, or heavy duty lift and locate for pressing forces.
- Check total conveyor load, accumulated and non-accumulated, against the drive type.
