Overview
New London Engineering turntable conveyors provide directional change in the smallest possible space, increase efficiency and improve operator ergonomics. The Model 180 directional change turntable handles sorting and 180-degree turns; the Model 181 accumulation and sorting turntable accumulates, sorts or orients products. Standard table diameters are 3' to 8', with diameters of up to 12 ft available. PRI supplies both models.
Key Features
- Direction change in tight spaces
- Turntables turn products 180 degrees in spaces traditional radius curve units can't.
- Diameters up to 12 ft
- Standard table diameters of 3' to 8' on both models, with diameters of up to 12 ft available.
- Standing or rotating sidewalls
- Various sidewall heights in either a standing wall or a rotating wall. Standard is 3-1/2" stationary on the 180 and 6" rotating on the 181.
- Speed for the task
- 2.5 RPM on the Model 180; 1 to 3 RPM on the Model 181 with a 1/4 HP 90V DC motor and DC controller.
- Carbon or stainless deck
- The Model 181 deck can be made of carbon or stainless steel.
- Better operator ergonomics
- Turntables improve operator ergonomics, and the Model 181 lets the operator perform a variety of tasks.
Product Line / Models
New London Engineering turntable models and standard specifications:
- Model 180 Directional Change Turntable – standard table diameters 3' to 8'; 2.5 RPM; 1/2 HP 230/460/3/60 TEFC motor; bottom-mounted drive with chain-driven direct drive under the table; 3-1/2" vertical stationary siderails; grease-sealed bearings; 12 gauge carbon steel frame with a 2" edge; 1/4" steel plate carrier platform rotating on heavy-duty casters; 30" standard elevation; gravity roller or skate wheel approaches at the infeed. Typically used in sorting applications and systems with a 180-degree turn.
- Model 181 Accumulation & Sorting Turntable – standard table diameters 3' to 8'; 1 to 3 RPM; 1/4 HP 90V DC motor and DC controller; bottom-mount drive; 6" high rotating siderails; grease-sealed bearings; 12 gauge frame with 2" frame depth; carbon or stainless steel deck; 30" standard elevation. Used to accumulate, sort or orient products.
Applications & Benefits
- Sorting: The Model 180 is typically used in sorting applications, and the Model 181 in accumulation and sorting.
- 180-degree turns: The Model 180 turns products 180 degrees in spaces traditional radius curve units can't.
- Accumulation: The Model 181 collects product on a rotating deck with 6" rotating siderails.
- Orienting product at a workstation: The Model 181 orients products and allows the operator to perform a variety of tasks.
How to Choose the Right NLE Turntable Conveyor
- Choose by task: the Model 180 for directional change and 180-degree turns, the Model 181 for accumulation, sorting or orientation.
- Pick the table diameter: 3' to 8' standard, with up to 12 ft available.
- Choose sidewalls: standing or rotating, in various heights.
- Check the speed: 2.5 RPM on the 180, 1 to 3 RPM on the 181.
- Choose the Model 181 deck material: carbon or stainless steel.
- Plan the infeed and height: the 180 takes gravity roller or skate wheel approaches, and both stand at a 30" standard elevation.
Why NLE Turntable Conveyors Are Trusted
- Quality conveyors since 1948: New London Engineering, of New London, Wisconsin, has built conveyors since 1948 and is a full line conveyor supplier.
- Smallest possible footprint: NLE turntables provide directional change in the smallest possible space.
- Heavy platform build: The Model 180 carries a 1/4" steel plate platform that rotates on heavy-duty casters, on a 12 gauge carbon steel frame.
