Overview
New London Engineering wire mesh belt conveyors carry hot or cold items from ovens or freezers and are used when items need to be washed or dried. Belts are available for temperatures up to 1200°F, and the open mesh allows airflow for cooling and drying as well as fluid drainage. Models 800, 801 and 802 share one frame and differ by deck; the Model 807 is built for foundry duty and cast parts up to 4,000 lb. PRI supplies the full line.
Key Features
- High-temperature belts
- Wire mesh belts are available for temperatures up to 1200°F.
- Open mesh
- Open mesh belts allow airflow for cooling and drying, as well as fluid drainage.
- Three deck choices
- Herringbone stainless steel wear strips (800), a roller bed (801) or high-density plastic wear strips (802).
- Even belt wear
- The herringbone deck pattern on the Model 800 spreads belt wear evenly across the belt.
- Easy wear strip changes
- The Model 802's "snap on, snap off" high-density plastic wear strips are easy to replace.
- Foundry-duty construction
- The Model 807 has an all-welded structural frame, 4" diameter rolls with 1-7/16" shafts, extreme-duty mounted ball bearings with covers and an 80 series chain drive line. The rollers and bearings are removable.
Product Line / Models
Models and NLE's standard specifications:
- Model 800 – Herringbone Wear Strip Deck – Stainless steel herringbone wear strips for water, high-temperature and dirty or gritty applications. 12" to 36" wide (custom widths available), 60 FPM, 1/2 HP 230/460/3/60 TEFC, bottom-mount drive at discharge, 12 ga x 6-1/2" deep frame, 13-tooth x 4.1" PD sprockets, 1/2" x 1" galvanized steel mesh standard.
- Model 801 – Roller Bed Deck – For medium- to heavy-duty applications. Rollers reduce friction between the wire mesh and deck, optimizing drive horsepower. Same standard specifications as the Model 800.
- Model 802 – High-Density Plastic Wear Strip Deck – An all-around cost-effective performer for light- to medium-duty applications, with snap-on, snap-off wear strips. Same standard specifications as the Model 800.
- Model 807 – Foundry Duty Wire Mesh – For abrasive environments and heavy-duty applications, with cast parts up to 4,000 lb. 12" to 48" wide, machine lengths of 4' to 10' (longer with a split frame design), 1 to 60 FPM. Frame of 8" structural channel with 1/2" wall or 3" x 3" x 3/8" structural angle, all welded. 3/8" wall, 4" diameter rolls with 1-7/16" shafts (welded or Taperloc), Dodge/Baldor extreme-duty mounted ball bearings with covers, heavy-duty C-channel supports for 16" to 48" top of roller that can be lagged to the floor, 80 series chain drive line, shaft-mounted gearbox. Mesh: 1/2" x 1" for better cooling and airflow, sand or scale, or balanced weave straight wire for greater strength and higher temperatures.
Applications & Benefits
- Ovens and freezers: Carrying hot or cold items out of ovens or freezers.
- Washing and drying: The open mesh lets wash fluid drain and air flow through for drying.
- Wet, hot or gritty lines: The Model 800 herringbone stainless deck is ideal for water, high-temperature and dirty or gritty applications.
- Foundry castings: The Model 807 carries cast parts up to 4,000 lb in abrasive environments, and NLE fits its wire mesh conveyors for cooling parts.
How to Choose the Right NLE Wire Mesh Conveyor
- Start with product temperature; belts are available for up to 1200°F.
- Pick the deck: herringbone stainless (800) for water, heat or grit; roller bed (801) for medium- to heavy-duty work with optimized drive horsepower; plastic wear strips (802) for cost-effective light- to medium-duty work.
- Check width: 12" to 36" standard on the 800, 801 and 802 (custom widths available), 12" to 48" on the 807.
- Choose the Model 807 for castings up to 4,000 lb or abrasive foundry environments.
- On the 807, choose 1/2" x 1" mesh for cooling, airflow, sand or scale, or balanced weave straight wire for greater strength and higher temperatures.
- Set speed and height: 60 FPM standard on the 800, 801 and 802; 1 to 60 FPM and 16" to 48" top of roller on the 807.
Why NLE Wire Mesh Conveyors Are Trusted
- Built with foundries: NLE has collaborated with top foundry and forge companies to design conveyors for higher ambient temperatures, abrasive materials and heavy parts.
- Heavier construction: NLE's foundry-duty conveyors use heavier gauge metals and more durable components than traditional conveying systems.
- Quality conveyors since 1948: New London Engineering, of New London, Wisconsin, describes its conveyors as American made and American engineered.
