Overview
The Pascal Circle Core Mag Clamp holds the mold to the injection molding machine platen with strong permanent magnets, with no bolts and no hydraulic or air clamps. It clamps at the push of a button in 0.5 to 4.5 seconds, uses energy only while switching on or off, and generates no heat while the mold is clamped. Two plate styles, the Slim model MFA and the Standard model MRA, fit molds from vertical-long to laterally wide, with vertical and horizontal loading supported.
Key Features
- Instant clamping
- Clamps the mold at the push of a button in 0.5 to 4.5 seconds.
- No power draw while clamped
- The electromagnetic coil is energized for only 0.5 seconds to switch on or off. No power is consumed and no heat is generated while the mold is clamped.
- Strong permanent magnets
- Neodymium and alnico magnets hold the mold. Reversing the alnico magnet's polarity clamps or releases it.
- Mold displacement detection
- Electromagnetic coils built into the magnet core near the center of the clamp plate detect if the mold shifts or lifts.
- No need to standardize mold sizes
- Molds of different height, width and thickness can run on the same machine. For horizontal loading of molds with different heights, only a spacer is added to the mold.
- Full use of the platen
- No clamp mounting space is needed, so molds can be designed without clamp-related size limits and without interference from core cylinders, connectors, couplers or hoses.
- Vertical and horizontal loading
- Supports crane loading from above and horizontal loading from the side.
Product Line / Models
Pascal offers two Circle Core models to match the size and shape of your molds:
- Slim model MFA – A slimmer plate for lower cost. Best when the mold width fits inside the tie bars, such as vertical-long molds.
- Standard model MRA – The same plate shape as Pascal's previous model, which accepts laterally wide molds.
Applications & Benefits
- Faster mold changes: No bolting or clamp handling in the machine, so a mold is clamped or released in seconds.
- Wide machine range: Pascal shows Circle Core mag clamps on injection molding machines from 1,300 kN to 30,000 kN.
- Horizontal loading mold change: Supports horizontal loading, including the Standard MRA on a 1,300 kN machine.
- Two-color and multi-shot machines: Used on two-color injection molding machines, including with Pascal couplers.
- Safer setup: No bolts to tighten, and the displacement detection system detects if the mold shifts or lifts.

How to Choose the Right Pascal Mag Clamp
- Start with your machine tonnage and platen dimensions.
- Compare mold width to your tie-bar spacing: the Slim MFA suits molds that fit inside the tie bars, and the Standard MRA suits laterally wide molds.
- Decide how molds are loaded (vertical by crane or horizontal) and whether mold heights vary; mixed heights only need a spacer.
- Check your mold temperature. The Circle Core is rated to 120°C; for hotter molds, see the Pascal Square Core Mag Clamp (MGA), rated to 150°C or 180°C.
- Plan any companion quick mold change equipment, such as a die changer, auto coupler, die setter or die leveler.
Why Pascal Mag Clamps Are Trusted
- Proven track record: Pascal reports a mag clamp delivery record of 7,000.
- Specialist maker: Pascal describes itself as Japan's premier magnet clamp maker.
- Built for large machines: Pascal shows installations on injection molding machines as large as 30,000 kN.
