Overview
The Pascal SMR Mold Rotator turns heavy molds, dies and large components 90 degrees on the shop floor, so they no longer have to be flipped with an overhead crane. Rotation takes 15 to 60 seconds, and the roller gear drive is oilless and maintenance free. The SMR handles 1 to 50 tons, and the SMR-V with a V block handles coils and wire rolls from 3 to 15 tons.
Key Features
- Fast rotation
- Turns the load in 15 to 60 seconds.
- Roller gear drive
- An electric motor, large sprocket and high-rigidity roller gear turn the table. Pascal says this drive provides excellent durability.
- Oilless and maintenance free
- There is no chain to adjust for stretch, and no hydraulic unit or cylinder.
- Two-hand operation
- The rotator runs only while two push buttons on the pendant switch are held down at the same time.
- Back cover
- A back cover is standard equipment. On the SMR20, SMR30 and SMR50 it is an option.
- Optional safety equipment
- A safety fence or light curtain can be added around the rotator. A rotary beacon light is standard.
Product Line / Models
Pascal offers the SMR in configurations for different loads:
- SMR – Roller gear driven rolling type for molds, dies and large components, 1 to 50 tons.
- SMR-V for coil materials – Adds a V block to hold steel coils and hoop materials, 3 to 15 tons.
- SMR-V for wire roll – V block version for wire coils and cable rolls.
- Safety options – Safety fence and light curtain, plus a danger zone floor marking that Pascal recommends the user provide.
Applications & Benefits
- Plastic and die cast molds: Turns plastic and die cast molds without crane flipping.
- Stamping dies: Pascal lists stamping die rotation among its main uses.
- Coils, rolls and wire: The SMR-V holds steel plate coils, electrical materials and wire coils.
- Large parts: Pascal shows it turning concrete products, machinery parts and transformers.
- Safer handling: Pascal notes that most overhead crane makers prohibit using the crane to turn heavy loads.

How to Choose the Right Pascal Mold Rotator
- Start with the weight of the heaviest mold or part you need to turn.
- Check the load dimensions against the rotator table.
- Choose the SMR for molds, dies and blocky parts, or the SMR-V with a V block for coils and rolls.
- Decide on safety equipment for the area: safety fence, light curtain or floor marking.
- Confirm the floor space and how the load will be brought to the rotator.
Why Pascal Mold Rotators Are Trusted
- Proven track record: Pascal reports a delivery record of 600 SMR units.
- Wide range of industries: Pascal lists users in auto parts, motor parts, home appliances, machine tools and injection molding machine building.
- Low upkeep: The oilless roller gear drive needs no chain adjustment and has no hydraulics.
