Overview

Southworth Lift + Tilt Tables control lift and tilt independently, so containers and other loads sit at the right height and the right angle. Hydraulic (GLT) and pneumatic (GLTA) models are rated 2,000 or 4,000 lb, and the Low-Profile Lift + Tilt Table loads with a hand pallet truck. PRI supplies Southworth lift and tilt equipment for container access and work positioning.

Key Features

  • Independent lift and tilt
    • Lift and tilt are controlled separately to position containers or other items at the right height and tilt angle.
  • Stable as the load tilts
    • The universal tilter base on GLT models compensates for the shifting center of gravity as the load is tilted, with a shorter but wider stance for stability in a small footprint.
  • Low profile when lowered
    • The open-frame top lets the tilting hydraulics retract within the frame, for a lower profile in the full down position.
  • Hydraulic or pneumatic
    • Hydraulic GLT models run on 115/1/60 power. Pneumatic GLTA models need a minimum of 80 PSI and 15 CFM of air.
  • 30° or 45° tilt
    • Hydraulic models are offered with a 30° or 45° tilt. Pneumatic and low-profile models tilt to 30°.
  • Options
    • Bellows accordion skirting keeps debris out from under the unit. An air-operated foot valve with guard can replace the pedestal-mounted hand valve.

Product Line / Models

Southworth lift and tilt models and ratings:

  • Hydraulic Lift + Tilt Tables (GLT) – 2,000 or 4,000 lb, 30° or 45° tilt, 11.5" lowered to 47.5" raised. Standard platforms 36" x 48" or 48" x 48", with maximum platforms of 60" x 60" or 72" x 60". 115/1/60 power.
  • Pneumatic Lift + Tilt Tables (GLTA) – 2,000 or 4,000 lb, 30° tilt, 15" lowered to 39" raised. Standard platforms 36" x 48" or 48" x 48", with maximum platforms of 48" x 60" or 60" x 60". Needs 80 PSI / 15 CFM air.
  • Low-Profile Lift + Tilt Table (ZLS2-33-T30, ZLS4-33-T30) – 2,000 or 4,000 lb, 50" x 48" pan-style platform, 1/2" low height, lifts to 33.5" and tilts from 0° to 30°. Loads and unloads with a hand pallet truck. 115/1/60 power.
  • Tilt-Down Tables – load and unload rolls and coils from processing machines as a one-person operation. Used standalone or with shaft pullers and transfer cars, and customized to the application.

Applications & Benefits

  • Parts containers and baskets: Set containers at a comfortable height and angle so operators reach parts without bending, stretching or reaching.
  • Work positioning: Hold a load at the height and tilt angle the task needs.
  • Hand pallet truck loading: The Low-Profile Lift + Tilt Table is essentially flush with the floor when lowered, so containers load with a typical hand pallet truck.
  • Roll and coil loading: Tilt-Down Tables load and unload rolls and coils from processing machines with one person.

How to Choose the Right Southworth Lift + Tilt Table

  1. Start with the load weight. Standard models are rated 2,000 or 4,000 lb.
  2. Check the container footprint against the platform size, or the 50" x 48" pan on the low-profile model.
  3. Set the working height. GLT models raise to 47.5", GLTA models to 39" and the low-profile model to 33.5".
  4. Pick the tilt angle: 30°, or 45° on hydraulic GLT models.
  5. Note how containers arrive. For hand pallet truck loading, look at the Low-Profile Lift + Tilt Table.
  6. Choose hydraulic (115/1/60) or pneumatic (80 PSI / 15 CFM) power.

Why Southworth Lift + Tilt Tables Are Trusted

  • A full container access line: Southworth builds portable, roll-on, pan-style and fixed-height container tilters as well as lift + tilt tables.
  • Stable under a tilted load: The universal tilter base compensates for the shifting center of gravity as the load tilts.
  • Documented and supported: Southworth publishes owner's manuals, service procedures and troubleshooting guides for its lift and tilt equipment.
