Overview

The Pascal Auto Coupler connects and disconnects many lines at once during a mold change: water, air and hydraulic couplers plus electric connectors, grouped on one plate. It is for plants that want faster, safer mold changes on injection molding, die casting and press lines. Coupling becomes automatic and fool-proof, so there is no connecting of hoses one at a time.

Key Features

  • Many lines, one connection
    • Water, air and hydraulic couplers and electric connectors couple and uncouple together.
  • Wide port range
    • Connection ports from 1/4" to 2", with maximum working pressure of 1 ~ 25 MPa.
  • Electric connector
    • Carries up to 60 A, with copper alloy or aluminum bodies.
  • Self-alignment and lock guide
    • A lock guide and self-alignment mechanism allows ±5 mm eccentricity between the machine and mold sides.
  • Durable body materials
    • Coupler bodies are made of stainless steel, chromium molybdenum steel or copper alloy.
  • Built to your layout
    • Installations range from a few ports to 50 water and air ports plus vacuum lines, as on Pascal's industrial machinery example.

Product Line / Models

Pascal auto couplers are installed with many combinations of line types, sizes and counts. Main types and options:

  • Auto coupler – Automatic coupling system for hydraulic, water and air lines plus electric connectors.
  • C&C coupler – A simple coupler that stays connected by the mold clamp. Contact PRI for C&C coupler details.
  • Fluid couplers – Hydraulic, water, air and vacuum ports in sizes from 1/4" to 2".
  • Electric connector – Max. current 60 A, copper alloy or aluminum body.
  • Non-contact connectors – For thermocouple and signal lines, shown on a 12,000 kN hot press.
  • Mold detection – A proximity switch confirms the mold is present, shown on a 900 kN blow molding machine.

Applications & Benefits

  • Automation: Makes line connection part of an automatic mold change.
  • Less downtime: Cuts machine downtime during mold or die changes.
  • Standard work: Standardizes the coupling procedure and makes training new employees easier.
  • Fool-proof connection: Pascal describes the coupling as fool-proof, so lines are not connected to the wrong port.
  • Large machines: Pascal shows an auto coupler on a 35,000 kN injection molding machine with 16 hydraulic ports, two 1 1/2" water and air ports and an electric connector.

How to Choose the Right Pascal Auto Coupler

  1. List every line on the mold: water, air, hydraulic, vacuum and electric, with port sizes and counts.
  2. Confirm working pressures and electric current for each line.
  3. Note your machine type, tonnage and platen dimensions, and where the coupler plate can mount.
  4. Decide whether you need a full auto coupler or the simpler C&C coupler that is held by the mold clamp.
  5. Plan companion equipment, such as a mold changer or mag clamp, for a fully automatic mold change.

Why Pascal Auto Couplers Are Trusted

  • Proven track record: Pascal reports a delivery record of 5,500.
  • Across industries: Pascal auto couplers are used on stamping, die casting and plastic molding machines.
  • Built for large machines: Pascal shows installations up to 35,000 kN injection molding machines.
