Overview
New London Engineering ToughTrak conveyors are low-profile steel slider bed conveyors with a 1-3/4" deep, 12-gauge frame that fits into tight spaces. Two models cover belt widths from 2" to 24": the standard-duty Model 150 for lightweight packages and parts, and the heavy-duty Model 250 for longer runs and heavier loads. NLE lists ToughTrak as its thin line conveyor for press rooms and metalworking. PRI supplies ToughTrak conveyors alongside the rest of the New London Engineering line.
Key Features
- Crowned, knurled drive pulley
- The crowned face knurled drive pulley continually tracks the belt and prevents it from slipping.
- One-piece frame and bed
- The frame and bed are laser cut from a single piece of steel for a strong, smooth, low-friction slider bed surface. A detachable bottom pan gives pinch point protection below the frame.
- Discharge-end take-up
- ToughTrak provides 3-3/4" of belt take-up (2-1/2" at the discharge and 1-1/4" at the infeed), with belt tensioning at the discharge end, often the most accessible end of the conveyor.
- Belt changes with one tool
- US standard fasteners mean no special tools. Belts can be changed in 10 minutes or less with a 3/16" Allen wrench, which also removes the supports and side rails.
- Belts, cleats and side rails
- A wide variety of belt and cleat options, including cleats from 1/2" to 2" high and scooped cleats. Bolt-on side rails are 1" high as standard, with other heights and UHMW lining available.
- Stainless steel construction
- Level 1 builds every component, hardware and lacing from non-magnetic stainless steel. Level 2 replaces the surface and exposed components with stainless steel.
Product Line / Models
ToughTrak models and standard specifications (maximum live loads from NLE's load capacity chart, a guideline based on uniform, non-accumulating horizontal belt travel):
- Model 150 Standard Duty – belt widths 2" to 24", lengths 2' to 10', standard speeds 15 to 120 FPM, gearmotor drive, 1-5/16" crown face knurled drive pulley x 5/8" bore, pressed-in precision bearings, 1-3/4" deep x 12 ga frame. The pressed-in drive bearings make the drive 1" to 4" narrower than other slider beds. Maximum live load 60 lb at 2" wide up to 432 lb.
- Model 250 Heavy Duty – belt widths 2" to 24", lengths 2' to 20'6", standard speeds 15 to 90 FPM, 56C frame TEFC motor and reducer, 2-7/8" crown face knurled drive pulley x 3/4" bore, 2-bolt flanged grease-sealed bearings, 1-3/4" deep x 12 ga frame. Built for longer runs at narrow widths and more weight than the 150. Maximum live load 84 lb at 2" wide up to 660 lb.
Applications & Benefits
- Press rooms and metalworking: NLE lists ToughTrak as its thin line conveyor for press rooms, designed to fit into tight spaces while holding up to extreme environments.
- Tight-fit transfers: The Model 150 carries a variety of lightweight packages and parts where space is limited.
- Longer, narrow runs: The Model 250 handles runs up to 20'6" while keeping narrow widths.
- Manufacturing environments: Steel-fabricated ToughTrak conveyors are built to survive the extreme tests of the manufacturing environment.
How to Choose the Right New London Engineering ToughTrak Conveyor
- Pick the model by length: the 150 runs 2' to 10', the 250 up to 20'6".
- Check the load against NLE's chart. At 12" wide, the 150 is rated 360 lb and the 250 is rated 504 lb.
- Set the speed: 15 to 120 FPM on the 150, 15 to 90 FPM on the 250. All standard speeds are available as variable speed.
- Choose the drive: center or end drive, with bottom, frame, top or shaft mounting depending on the model.
- Add cleats, side rails or stainless steel construction to suit the parts.
Why New London Engineering ToughTrak Conveyors Are Trusted
- Quality conveyors since 1948: New London Engineering of New London, Wisconsin has built conveyors since 1948 and describes its line as American made and American engineered.
- U.S. steel: ToughTrak is built from U.S. made hot rolled steel with a durable Hammertone paint finish.
- Guarded underside: The detachable bottom pan provides pinch point protection below the conveyor frame.
