High‑Speed, Precision Gap Frame Power Presses

The Stamtec GHS Series is a line of high‑speed, precision gap frame (C‑frame) power presses in 22, 44 and 66 ton capacities (20, 40 and 60 metric tons), with speeds up to 750 strokes per minute and a 1.2‑inch stroke.

It joins Stamtec's other gap frame presses: the 1‑point OCP and GL1 Series and the 2‑point G2 Series.

Key Features

  • Cast iron frame: high‑strength cast iron, stress relieved for lasting precision
  • CMM‑inspected components: critical components are inspected on a coordinate measuring machine to ensure they are concentric and true
  • Dynamically balanced crankshaft: maintains precision at high speeds
  • Recirculating lubrication: forced circulating lubrication system
  • Slide adjustment: manual slide adjustment with a hydraulic locking device, and a die height indicator accurate to 0.01 mm
  • Crankshaft encoder: precise crank angle detection
  • Variable‑speed drive: main motor equipped with a VFD (variable frequency drive)
  • Air connections: 3/8" air source and air ejector receptacles, standard

Product Line / Models

Stamtec offers three models:

  • GHS‑20 – 22 US tons (20 metric tons), 200–750 SPM, 22 × 11.8 in. bolster
  • GHS‑40 – 44 US tons (40 metric tons), 200–650 SPM, 27.9 × 16.5 in. bolster
  • GHS‑60 – 66 US tons (60 metric tons), 200–550 SPM, 33.9 × 18.5 in. bolster

Standard Equipment and Options

Standard: main motor with inverter, hydraulic slide lock, preset and total counter (7‑digit electronic), floor‑standing electrical control cabinet, forced circulating lubrication, electronic crank angle indicator, misfeed plugs and sockets (4 sets), air source receptacle, air ejector, die light socket, mechanical die height indicator (0.01 mm), tool box and operation manual.

Optional: die light, anti‑vibration press mounts, B.D.C. detector, load/tonnage monitor, feeder, uncoiler, uncoiler with straightener, and quick die change (QDC) equipment.

Applications & Benefits

  • High speed: 200–750 SPM on the GHS‑20, 200–650 SPM on the GHS‑40 and 200–550 SPM on the GHS‑60
  • Precision at speed: a dynamically balanced crankshaft maintains precision at high speeds, with a crankshaft encoder for precise crank angle detection and a die height indicator accurate to 0.01 mm
  • Automation options: misfeed sockets and an air ejector are standard; a feeder, uncoiler with straightener, load/tonnage monitor, B.D.C. detector and quick die change are available as options

How to Choose the Right High‑Speed Gap Frame Press

  1. Tonnage: estimate your job with our press tonnage calculator and allow a margin.
  2. Die size: compare your die to the bolster and slide plate areas.
  3. Stroke and die height: the GHS Series has a 1.2‑inch stroke. For small parts that need deeper or more complex forming, Stamtec offers the GL1 Link Motion Series.
  4. Speed: match the strokes per minute to your feed and part‑out rate.
  5. Feeding and monitoring: plan the uncoiler, straightener, feeder and tonnage monitor with the press.

Why Stamtec Gap Frame Presses Are Trusted

  • A complete gap frame lineup, from the 22‑ton GHS‑20 up to 330‑ton OCP and G2 models
  • Stamtec's Manchester, Tennessee facility, about an hour southeast of Nashville, provides sales support, service, spare parts and machine run‑off
  • PRI application engineering for the press and the equipment around it: feeds, die protection, tonnage monitoring and guarding
