Overview
WireCrafters physical barriers are fully framed woven or welded wire mesh panels that bolt to posts. Together they form a perimeter guard around presses, robots and other automated equipment. A wire barrier has no electrical parts to fail, and the mesh helps contain parts or scrap thrown by a malfunction while keeping the process in view.
Key Features
- Fully framed panels
- The mesh is welded inside an angle frame on all four sides for strength and stability.
- Woven or welded mesh
- Choose 10 ga woven wire in a 2 in. x 1 in. mesh, or RapidWire HD 10 ga welded wire.
- Modular sizes
- Standard panel widths, posts and doors combine to fit the layout, and custom panel sizes and heights are available.
- Doors and lift-out access
- Hinged, double hinged, sliding and vertical rise doors, plus lift-out and lift-off panels, give maintenance access.
- Interlock ready
- Safety switches or interlocks can be supplied with mounting plates.
- Alternate infill
- Panels can use expanded metal, 16 ga sheet metal, 1/4 in. polycarbonate or stainless steel in place of wire mesh.
- Heavy hardware
- Standard 3/8 in. mounting hardware and anchors are included, and the hardware can't be reached from the guarded side.
Product Line / Models
WireCrafters barrier systems:
- Style 840 woven wire – The original woven wire barrier: 10 ga wire in a 2 in. x 1 in. rectangular mesh inside a 1-1/4 in. angle frame. Panel widths run 1 ft to 10 ft in 1 ft steps.
- RapidWire HD welded wire – 10 ga welded wire in a 1-1/4 in. x 2-1/2 in. or 2 in. x 2 in. pattern with a 13 ga roll-formed angle frame. Generally seen as more rugged than woven mesh.
- RapidGuard lift-out – Panels lift out of the posts for full machine access. Standard panels are 6 ft-2-13/16 in. or 8 ft-1-1/4 in. high and 6 in. to 5 ft wide.
- RapidGuard II lift-off – Panels lift off while the hardware stays attached to the posts, per RIA TR R15.406. Panels are 1 ft to 5 ft wide, in black with yellow posts as standard.
- Style 304 stainless steel – Type 304 stainless square welded wire with 1-3/8 in. openings for food processing, drug manufacturing and wash-down areas.
Applications & Benefits
- Robotic and weld cells: Perimeter guarding for robots and welding stations, with welding curtains integrated where needed.
- Press and fabrication areas: Guarding around press brake stations, stamping, laser cutting and punching.
- Containment: Mesh helps hold in fragments, projectiles or scrap from a process malfunction.
- Wash-down areas: Style 304 stainless barriers suit food and drug plants that need spray-down.

How to Choose the Right WireCrafters Barrier
- Map the perimeter and choose a height. Standard machine guarding heights are 5 ft-3-1/4 in. and 8 ft-5-1/4 in. with a 3-1/4 in. sweep, and custom heights are available.
- Pick the mesh: woven Style 840, welded RapidWire HD, or stainless Style 304 for wash-down.
- Plan access: hinged or sliding doors, or lift-out (RapidGuard) and lift-off (RapidGuard II) panels for maintenance.
- Decide where interlocks go and which switch you will use.
- Choose finish and infill: gray, yellow, black or special colors, plus polycarbonate, sheet metal or welding curtain sections.
Why WireCrafters Barriers Are Trusted
- Always on guard: A physical barrier isn't affected by power outages or electrical faults.
- Standards-minded design: WireCrafters designs its guarding to OSHA and ANSI/RIA requirements, and RapidGuard II hardware complies with ANSI B11.19 and RIA TR R15.406.
- Fully framed construction: Every panel is framed on all four sides, so it resists dings and keeps its shape.
